Uganda Children’s Centre is proud of her own Nakandi Mastula an Alumni who has become famous due to her visionary leadership and enthusiasm to uplift the girl child and young people living in informal settlements.
Mastula is a Young African Leader who is very passionate about transforming Africa through mentoring and empowering young people especially young people from ghetto and rural communities.
She is an Alumni of the YALI/RLC East African Program cohort 33, an Active Citizen Facilitator qualified by British Council, a Young Leaders Forum alumnus 2018, Peace ambassador, and a member at the She Leads Global Girls and Young Women Board under the She Leads Project.
She is a global advocate that advocates for girls and young women’s rights especially their right to education. She works with Ngabo Youth Friendly Services Centre as a programs officer and also volunteers with Network for Active Citizens as
a community Journalist where she collects stories of change in the ghetto communities of Kampala about climate change resilience and mitigation.
UCC is thankful to Mastula for taking charge of herself and challenged all negatives forces to become an international icon within a very short time. She is now a role model in her community whose efforts are demonstrated from her good practices engaged among young people. These efforts are true lessons and experiences that should be emulated by young people in her communities and the country
